A Hooker Sea Lion (Phocartos hookeri) touches noses with it's pup on the New Zealand island of Enderby. Related to the California sea lion, these mammals have strong family bonds and is shown here reaffiming those bonds by touching noses. Enderby island lies well to the south of New Zealand adn just off the coast of Aukland island. The beautiful low lying island is home to hunfreds of Hooker sea lions, a few wandering albatross, the elusive yellow-eyed penguin, several indiginous birds, and during the summer months, a few hardy researchers.
