Two
Southern Elephant Seal (Mirounga leonina) pups play on the beach
on South Georgia Island. "Blubber Slugs", as they
are affectionately referred to, like these can grow to lengths
of over 20 feet long and weigh as much as 8000 lbs! At this
size, these pups were as curious about me as I was of them.
They let me approach close enough to snuggle noses and they
licked three of my lenses! |
