| Grizzly bears
(Ursus arctos) crowd Brooks Falls in an effort to find an easy
meal. They come to feast on the salmon that must jump the falls
in order to continue up stream. They bears simply wait be the
falls and the fish come to them. While it looks simple, there
is actually a complex dynamic social structure where the biggest
bears get the best spots. Once the salmon have moved up stream,
so too will the bears. |
