| A Harp Seal pup
(Phoca groenlandica) looks around for its mother. The color
and size of this pup indicates it is a newborn and its mother
is most likely close by. Once it has fattened up a bit more,
the mother will wean it and leave to replenish her stores of
fat. At that point this pup will be on its own. |
