Jellyfish (Pelagia noctiluca). Jellyfish are made up of about
95% water which makes them light enough to move through the
water. Because they are mostly water, they are not a very good
food source which, combined with stinging cells in their tentacles,
helps to ward off predatos. This one was found in the California
Channel Islands. |
